Merry Christmas everybody (Qi)! I decided to give Totoro a Santa hat on my facebook profile picture:

It's been a while

It's been a while, dear friend. Since my last post, let's see what has happened in the nimble world of Steph:

My last post was two days before Thanksgiving. The next day, I flew from Boston to Philadelphia to see my problems. Whoops...family. What I meant was, I got to the airport and had no problems getting to Philly. I even got an earlier flight! (For only a fee of $50...?) Anyway, got a haircut, spent the day with my mom, had dinner with my parents and family friends, set up the Christmas tree with my dad and my friend Lise. The next morning, I awoke to find that the cats had knocked down (and thus effectively broke) my favorite ornament resembling a VW Beatle that Bert gave to me when I was really young - maybe 5 or 6 years old. Ke sera sera, spent the early afternoon with Jamie and Courtney downtown, to learn just how little stuff was left in my old apartment (it'd all been moved next door, aside from my furniture). Headed over to Yaya's, where there was a plethora of food foor what turned out to be some forty people, half of whom are vegan, yet somehow there were some 35 lbs of turkey...

Spent Friday morning at the oral surgeon, planning to have my wisdom teeth wisely removed. Then met up with Lise and Eli for lunch, and later had dinner with my parents and Bert. Then went to Yaya's to hang out with people, and Kibby (cousin) was in for the night. Brunch Saturday with Yaya, Irma, the parents, and Kibby, then went back in town and spent the day with Yaya. Woke up early Sunday morning to sing Church, then had lunch with Josh and Mike before Josh and I headed to Alan's suprise 40th birthday party (the birthday was a surpise, not the party - wait, scratch that. I meant it the other way around). LONG (yet fantabulous) party, and awoke even earlier the next morning to come back to Boston.

It was then that I learned I should not fly between Philadelphia and Boston.

Going home was just fine. However, there were no direct flights from Philly back to Boston, but instead they all flew through LaGuardia. Which, by the way, had too much airport traffic when my flight was due to take off, thus we were grounded for an hour. Not only did I miss my connecting flight, but also the original flight I was supposed to take from LaGuardia to Boston had been canceled, and thus everyone was on my new flight (thankfully I'd already called to cancel the doctor's appointment I had that afternoon). Apparently US Air has some issues with calculating mass distribution, as these calculations and the paperwork associated with them grounded our flight yet another hour.

FINALLY got back to Boston, had a lovely reunion with my shower, followed by a lovely reunion with my greatly-missed boyfriend, and then headed for six hours of a not-so-lovely reunion with physics and bio labs, back to back.

Follwed then this week by midterms. Two. Bio later today, and physics tomorrow. I also just turned in the lab that's due on Wednesday, although there's another due next week.

Am terribly excited for Thursday evening, when we head back down to Philly (via train) for the annual Curtis holiday party, returning Saturday, just in time to meet Pablo's parents back up in Cambridge. Then return back to Philly the following weekend for Sparklefest Break. Then return for more labs, more class, and finals. A whole weekend off, and it's the end of January and the spring semeseter has begun.
